Classification and use of sodium silicate powder

Sodium silicate powder is divided into different grades according to its content, impurities and chromaticity.

Electronic grade (mainly containing > 99.99) : it is mainly used in medicine as a laxative. The dosage is very small. There is no domestic production at present, mainly concentrated in Japan, Spain and other countries.

Class I products (mainly including >99.0) : mainly used for printing and dyeing, synthetic detergent, vinylon, etc.

Class 2, grade 1 products (mainly including >98.0) : mainly used in glass, dye, paper and other industries.

Class 3, grade 1 products (mainly containing >95.0) : mainly used as raw materials in the inorganic salt industry or as fillers for other products.

There are also according to the chloride ion of high - low - chlorine sodium powder.

According to different acids and bases, it can be divided into basic sodium silicate powder and neutral sodium silicate powder. Without special instructions, they are all understood as sodium silicate powder with ph value of 8-11.

Also classified by industry use: pulping agent used in manufacturing sulphate pulp for paper industry. The printing and dyeing industry is used as a dye aid.The glass industry is used in place of soda ash.The chemical industry is used as a raw material for the manufacture of sodium sulfide, sodium silicate and other chemicals.Textile industry used to prepare vinylon spinning solidification bath.

Role in cement:

1. After adding fly ash, the early strength of cement decreases, and the amount of fly ash can be increased by adding sodium silicate powder

2. After mixing concrete, it can react with calcium hydroxide to rapidly generate hydrated calcium sulphoaluminate and accelerate cement hardening
