Potassium ferrocyanide
Potassium ferrocyanide is a light yellow monoitalic crystal or powder, odorless, slightly salty, with a relative density of 1.85.It is stable at normal temperature and starts to lose crystal water when heated to 70℃. When heated to 100℃, it completely loses crystal water and becomes a white powder with hygroscopicity.Decomposition occurs at high temperature, giving off nitrogen to form potassium cyanide and iron carbide.Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, ether, methyl acetate and liquid ammonia. Its aqueous solution is decomposed into iron hydroxide by light, and reacts with excess Fe3 + to produce Prussian blue pigment
