To use:
1. In the reaction, copper sulfate appears blue-green, much bluer than barium ion.
2. Copper can be used to test for anemia.Drop a blood sample into a solution of copper sulfate. If the blood sample contains enough hemoglobin, the blood sample will sink rapidly. If there is not enough hemoglobin, the blood will be suspended in the solution.
3. Determination of reducing sugar with ferlin's reagent and banderman's reagent. In the reaction, divalent copper ions are reduced to monovalent insoluble red precipitate cuprous oxide.Copper sulfate can also be used to detect proteins in biuret reagents.
