无色或白色结晶粉末，无色单斜结晶，一酸合物KIO3.HIO3和二酸合物KIO3.2HIO3j均为无色单斜晶体。无臭 。它能溶于水和碘化钾水溶液、稀硫酸，不溶于乙醇。和液氨中。
