Soluble in water, ethanol, acetone and other solvents.The aqueous solution is neutral, and forms the red iron thiocyanate with the iron salt, does not react with the ferrous salt, and forms the yellow sodium bisulfate with the concentrated sulfuric acid, interacts with the cobalt salt to form the dark blue cobalt thiocyanate, interacts with the silver salt or the copper salt to form the white silver thiocyanate precipitation or the black copper thiocyanate precipitation.
